About Retinelle
Retinelle is a photo inventory app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Here is what it does, why it exists, and who is behind it.
What Retinelle is
Retinelle turns your camera into the fastest way to document what you own. Capture items with photos, group them into projects, and add structured details with typed custom fields. When it is time to share, export a polished PDF or spreadsheet in seconds. Everything stays private on your device — no account, no cloud, works fully offline. People use Retinelle for home and insurance inventories, moving and storage, decluttering and selling, collections and hobbies, and client or rental documentation.
Why it exists
Retinelle was born from a very concrete need. When I had to inventory an entire family home, I started by organizing everything in a spreadsheet, but soon found myself juggling awkward cells, scattered photos, and a process so tedious it was tempting to give up halfway through. So I began building the app I wish I’d had: just take a photo, add a few details, and let the inventory come together gradually, over time.
Who is behind it
Retinelle is designed and built by Vincent Germain, an independent developer. It began as a tool he made for his own home inventory and has since been used to document everything from home and insurance inventories to collections.
